The deadly Highway 2
One of the most dangerous highways in Seattle is Highway 2. Designed with numerous curves and bumps, this road has been the cause of many accidents. Additionally, parts of the highway are located in an avalanche-prone area and some sections lack a divider between oncoming traffic. The roadway is also frequently disrupted by the presence of trees, cows, and horses.
Below are recent accidents that have occurred on Highway 2::
- December 2007: A teenager is killed in a head-on crash when his car accidentally swerves into the oncoming lane.
- May 2009: A 22 year old man is killed on the highway when his truck swerves off the road and slams into a nearby tree.
- July 2009: Two men suffer injuries when a motorcycle slams into the back of a pickup-truck.
- September 2009: A pedestrian is left in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck at night.

- Interstate 5: This roadway passes through California, Oregon, Washington, and stretches 1,381 miles.
- I-90: Being the longest highway in America, I-90 spans 3,099.07 miles.
- I-405: After recent construction, this highway has experienced a significant increase in volume and is now the most congested highway in the State of Washington.
